Professional Biographies

Landscape AdviceCharm Dreier (formerly known as Charm Stadtler) started gardening professionally in the Bay Area in 1999. She worked for a couple of different landscape contractors, both with horticultural maintenance crews, while she finished her horticulture training. Her education included classes and workshops attended at City College of San Francisco, Merritt College, the Helen Strybing Arboretum in the Golden Gate Park, the Urban Farmer irrigation specialist store, and Filoli Botanical Gardens. She worked her way up the ladder to crew supervisor, and working as the company’s pest and plant disease specialist. Her on-the-job experience was her greatest education, which included bookkeeping duties, scheduling, and estimating, and within a few years, she was ready to start her own business.

Charm started Stadtler Landscaping in early 2003 and earned her landscape contractors’ license in 2005. Stadtler Landscaping specializes in horticultural maintenance and getting projects done the right way the first time. For many years, Stadtler Landscaping performed all duties with creating and maintaining beautiful gardens, except pruning over-story trees and pouring concrete. For those activities, Charm developed relationships with local certified arborists and concrete artisansHorticultural Consultation.

Currently, Stadtler Landscaping has not been taking on new garden projects, instead referring potential clients to trusted landscapers in the area. They are focusing on sustainable garden maintenance with a long-term client base; some of their clients have been enjoying the services for a dozen years now.

Scott Dreier began as a journeyman at Stadtler Landscaping in late 2003, and very quickly became an expert through hands-on experience and self-study. He became a partner in the business in 2004, and became the supervisor of the construction team. He excelled at the technical work such as electrical, carpentry, hardscaping, irrigation, and tool maintenance, while also displaying his chops at results-driven gardening and lawncare.
